Applied Nutrition Clear Whey

I've been looking around to get a fruity Whey protein since I am used to American brand Syntrex Nectar which is almost impossible to find here in UK anymore. But luckily I found this!

Order came in today, well packaged and looks like a valuable brand.

The texture is very nice, I mixed one scoop in 400ml water and it became really foamy and didn't mix well so had to shake for a little longer and left it for few minutes to let it settle. after that its fine.

It doesn't taste anything like normal whey protein and if you're like me who's got bit of a sweet tooth, you will love it as it just like another fruit juice.

If the ingredients are as described, Whey protein cannot get any better than this as this is Hydrolysed Whey Protein Isolate with 21gms of protein per scoop. I can drink this 5 times a day without thinking twice as it really is that refreshing. Yes it is very sweet and in-fact you can taste the sucralose but since its not sugar (synthetic) so it shouldn't be an issue even if you're on keto. I am just praying the ingredients are correct.

Price is very high for 875g pack

If the company drop the prices compare to a normal Whey isolate, this is a superhit products IMHO. I also wish they make this in 5kg tubs for returning customers like myself.

I noticed several other reviews complaining this doesn't mix - it *does* but it takes a LOT of time and effort by hand. The first time my smartwatch thought I was on a run and started to track it, after that I learned to take it off while making them! Doing a few at a time it easily took half an hour.

I've since switched to using a blender and it just takes a couple of second pulses to completely mix, but it does make more foam which takes a while to die down. Probably not a massive saving in time but definitely in effort

Whichever method you use, it eventually all absorbs completely and leaves a pleasant tasting drink. It reminds me a little of flat orangeade rather than squash.

The scoop is definitely on the generous side tho and loses it a star. It's closer to 35g than the 25g in a portion so I would recommend weighing rather than relying on it.

Off the bat, this particular brand of clear whey by Applied Nutrition is one of the better tasting clear whey protein powders that I have tried. Tastes exactly like watermelon. Other brands that I have tried have a reputation of tasting chemically, but thankfully this does not and tastes akin to juice.

If you dislike the taste or milky texture of whey protein in general, then clear whey is for you. Not only does it taste like juice, but I have noticed it to be easier on the stomach in comparison to normal whey.

In comparison to competitors, this brand boasts more servings per price. Thus, you get more for your money.

My only issue with the product is the packaging. It can get very messy. The seal on the bag does not fully close and the power itself is more like flour opposed to powder. Unlike other brands, I have never had this issue with the texture of the powder. This makes it quite messy.

Taste like orange squash it will foam up when blended but if you let it set in the fridge a few minutes it clears up doesn't smell great but is a good alternative to milkshake protein low calorie decent protein helps drink more water too

Love this clear protein as it goes perfectly with cold water - the flavour is very strong and sweet which for me is the only negative. It keeps me going between meals if I want to snack and has helped me lose weight (along with exercise and eating more mindfully)

Taste like orange squash it will foam up when blended but if you let it set in the fridge a few minutes it clears up doesn't smell great but is a good alternative to milkshake protein low calorie decent protein helps drink more water too
