Trek High Protein Low Sugar

Average without much flavour. Trek seem to have reduced flavour options and what's left is plain and artificial tasting.

Previously these used to taste like a chocolate bar, a naughty chocolate bar with protein. Amazing. The new recipe makes it just a protein bar. It tastes like a protein bar, no where near as good as it used to be.

What a boring an underwhelming replacement to what were high energy bars.

These are a pale imitation of what went before.

These taste awful compared to the old power bars, no flavour what so ever and the texture is now really grainy and tastes like a very cheap protein bar. Won't be buying again and such an expensive price for a rubbish product

First impressions of these were good, I love Trek bars and I love Biscoff so this was a match made in heaven for me! Our house is veggie/vegan so I'm always looking at what snacks I can get in to get more protein in whilst still being something enjoyable that everyone will want to eat. These definitely ticked that box, my husband said they tasted amazing and the kids also thought they were really tasty - so much so they barely left any for me to try, so I may have to order some more and hide a secret stash!

Overall, I say they offer good value for money considering the brands, good taste and protein content, so I'd happily recommend them!

Ive been buying their protein bars for quite a while as they were tasty with decent ingredients. The recipe for this and others has changed and this is now chewy, slightly sticky with much less flavour. It doesn't taste much like anything especially Bischoff and is now just artificially sweet. Trek seem to have discontinued choc orange and millionaire shortbread which were also great. The new recipes and replacements are poor, the bars now taste cheap and sickly. No longer worthwhile.

I have 30+ purchases of the 16 pack of previous recipe, thats over 480 of the bars I have eaten. And that is just of the millionaire shortbread version which this has replaced and doesn't include the others I have also bought multiple boxes of.

This new recipe is FOUL. I don't really understand why they have changed this to a low sugar alternative, when the original targeted a completely different market who was not looking for a low sugar protein snack. Both this version and the biscoff version some how taste exactly the same. They leave an awful after taste which I can only assume is the stevia and has hints of something artificial and unpleasant I can't put my finger on. I know they have a label which says "No artificial sweetener" but this could easily lead someone to believe it doesn't have any sweetener which is clearly not the case.

The texture of the filling is squishy like any other standard protein bar, they no longer have that nice crunchy texture. They are extremely expensive and not worth the money for how disgusting they taste. They are also smaller and more expensive than the previous version. Just don't buy these.

These are a great addition to the Trek range. They taste good and have a nice texture as well as being low sugar high protein. I have swapped to these as a treat and am really impressed.

I recently switched my diet up to lose some weight, going for high protein. This has been working and when I saw these bars I hoped they'd be the ideal breakfast or snack.

They didn't disappoint! They're incredibly tasty! Slightly chewy like a flapjack with adelicious biscoff layer on top. They're very filling and although there's some carbs in them, I didn't gel a huge blood sugar spike and crash.

I really enjoyed them and think they're good value for money. Easy to grab for when you're on the go or in a rush. I will order again.

This bar is a great option for a high-protein, low-sugar snack. The functionality is excellent; it's genuinely filling and provides a substantial 15g of plant protein, making it ideal for a post-workout boost or a quick snack during a busy day. The individually wrapped bars are very convenient for on-the-go. The flavour / taste is decent and I can't really tell it's plant based or not. Overall good alternative.

These were definitely a hot in my house! I thought these would be a very useful item to have as my breakfast on days when I was running a bit late but still needed to eat something. I opened the box and situated them near to my bean to cup coffee machine. The first morning went well and I was pleased with the taste of the bar as it's not too sweet given the advertised Biscoff flavouring. On going to grab another the next morning, I noticed that 2 others had gone missing. On asking the family, it transpires that I wasn't the only one who thought they were nice and so they lasted only 1/3 of the time I expected them to!

Given the price of a lot of other protein bars on the market, I think that these represent good value when the weight per bar is taken into account. I certainly didn't feel the need to have anything else in the morning after having one with my coffee, so perhaps the next box I buy will be stashed away somewhere safer.

They taste like compacted sawdust...a sweetened version.

So sad these have replaced the old Millionaire Shortbread Trek Bars. Gutted to see that Trek have discontinued my favourite protein bar. This new version is just like eating regular, boring protein bars without even adding more protein - the taste is gross and the texture is nothing like the crunchiness of the Millionaire Shortbread bars. Will definitely not be buying these again.

I often am on the go and so find it convenient to carry snacks in my bag in case I get hungry. I've seen the trek biscoff protein bars before and was intrigued to try them. The packaging upon arrival did look slightly different to the ones I've seen and upon further inspection these appeared to be a recipe adjustment/improvement to the previous one. This bar is the same weight as the previous however visually looks bigger and as such more satisfying. It also has less sugar whilst still having the sweetness of Biscoff. For a nutritious snack bar, it definitely feels like a treat to have. The texture isn't like a chocolate bar however I personally prefer this as it has more of a substantial bite and I find this enjoyable. I personally think they could do with being a touch sweeter however other than this I do quite enjoy them. Overall, these are a must try for Biscoff fans.

These are great! They're a little higher in carbs than I'm used to, but I feel like this just contributes to a gentle energy boost. They really do taste like biscoff.

They've got a layer of biscoff covered in caramel, and it feels like a generous amount of actual caramel, not like the token amount that some bars give you. I supppose this is why it's so high in carbs?

Overall, these feel like an actual snack bar, not a regular protein bar. I love them.

These Biscoff high protein bars are ideal for giving a burst of energy when that mid-afternoon fatigue sets in around 3 o'clock.

As a diabetic for the last 7 years, I'm not a really a regular chocolate bar eater, for obvious reasons. However, it is very important especially when out and about walking the dog or while driving, to have a sweet, fast acting snack readily available in the event of a hypo. I have found that these wonderful tasting, Biscoff and caramel flavoured lightly chocolate covered, Trek protein bars are perfect for that particular job, and I only therefor eat them for medicinal reasons, you understand. lol

The only trouble is, my wife, and two teenage kids really like them too, and they have started to quickly disappear from my secret hiding place at the very back of the bottom shelf of the fridge, where I've been hiding them until recently.

It is looking like I'm going to have to find myself another hiding place, which is a pity, because they are lovely and chewy when they're cold.
